I actually regret the time I have spent playing/watching/reading things that I thought were disgusting but kept going because they had other qualities that I appreciated. Never forget that there's a ton of good media out there waiting for you, you absolutely don't need to expose your brain to disgusting garbage and spend time with things that you find repulsive.

But at some point your education is, if not complete, at least sufficiently advanced that you can and even should be more discriminating about what you're willing to devote your time on, and to what extent. I personally thought spending 7 hours on a pozzed, but well-made and culturally relevant show like Invincible (without paying for it) was ultimately worth it. Spending 70 hours on an ultra-pozzed game like Baldur's Gay 3, that I can't even pirate? Absolutely no way.

@noyoushutthefuckupdad @deadheat @Moon @coldacid @coolboymew I was less impressed, because for a deconstruction of superheroes (or at least Superman specifically), it really dropped the ball on critically examining common genre nonsense - the paper-thin secret identities, the retarded never-kill hero policy, nonsensical power levels (Invincible should NOT be having the least bit trouble with at least half the clowns he tangles with, and Omni-Man should in no way have struggled with those zombie brutes) and romantic plot tumors - the latter was played COMPLETELY straight, at least in the cartoon, until Amber's moronic last reveal that is.That said, my most succinct summary of Invincible season 1 is the following: Every scene with Omni-Man is great, every scene with Amber is shit.
