They're too slow. What you may see are people using small craft to hopscotch the distance of their fuel tank across the states and the globe. Dangerous, but far less so than an aircraft put together by brown people.

@nugger @ForbiddenDreamer @Hank_Ikes I still think a paramotor setup would be ideal for me to commute to work, provided it’s not too cold.I have the space to take of and land right out my back door, and there are huge unused parking lots at my work.Its normally a 31 mile drive that takes me 35-40 minutes, but as the crow flies would probably be more like 25 miles.

If it was improperly stored, the materials could be weakened and you're not going to catch that on inspection without destroying it. And of course, if you're relying on some internet schizo to tell you not to fly with a defective parachute, I really question your ability to do a proper inspection on everything else involved and would prefer that you spend a few thousand more dollars instead of becoming an abstract art piece in some random parking lot under your daily commute.

I wouldn't get a man-mounted one, I'd get a little convertible trike so you aren't beating the hell out of your knees (which you need to baby, every dude seems to have knee problems later on)A while back I posted this company because they named their 2 stroke "black bull" and it's very cringe. But the rest of the gear is nice. You have somewhere to put cargo, have your hands more free, much better

@WashedOutGundamPilot @ForbiddenDreamer @anime_outdoor @nugger @Hank_Ikes I have looked into getting both styles the trike style does seem more comfortable. But it really would kill it for me as the main appeal of me wanting to get one is to go fly it around in the mountains and you are way more limited on take off landing spots vs foot launching. I have sky dived twice and am an above average sized guy and feel my knees can handle and not be injured from landinds for quiet some time.
