Entertainment from Japan has been a save haven for a good long 30 or so years. Relatively untouched from the outside corruptive influences until more recently. However I am not so complacent that I expect it to stay that way for good. It's been clear that things have been shifting downwards.Soon the same problem will occur there. The entertainment and series being produced will be done so the banks and financiers are happy, not the people watching or playing them.People will once again need to look for smaller sources of entertainment, especially from themselves and those around them. Not just in the way of copying what they already like, but being able to create from deeper sources. The biggest issue is almost always curation and consensus. Once that is established them things can grow.

@Arkana >The biggest issue is almost always curation and consensus. Would you care to expand on this?It seems like you've put a lot of thought to it.

@laurel I haven't put that much thought into it, it's just what I've seen. Most things made out of passion are not done for money or fame, they are done for the sake of doing it. This means that others must take the effort to reward them or show others. If somebody creates something of value, there is no guarantee that others will be able to see it. Even if others do see it, there may be a consensus built up that prevents works like that from flourishing due to stigma or convention. In the modern day you need some space to share your work, as well as a group of people who are "on the same page" in order to accept it.The biggest thing I'm hoping for the future is that spaces like that can be developed more and properly maintained.
