I once pumped some gas then saw I had forgot my bank card at home. I went inside, told the manager and left him my driver's license. Since I lived right in town it would take me all of 5 minutes to get back.Got back, paid, got license back and all was well. No incidence.

My local station let me do that once, only I felt so bad I stayed there and called a family member to drive out with the money, rather than leave without paying. High trust societies are precious, precious things. I'm glad they are punished for trying to take advantage. Whether the shop and locale count as high trust, I've no idea.
