Keep seeing this headline floating around as if it's a big deal:"BRICS: Morgan Stanley Downgrades The U.S. Dollar"Morgan Stanley is downgrading the dollar because the Fed will soon lower rates. Currencies are assets which yield a return based on their respective central bank. When US rates are high, dollar yield is high, therefore it's more attractive to hold. When rates go back down, dollars become less attractive. It's not based on BRICS whatsoever.https://watcher.guru/news/brics-morgan-stanley-downgrades-the-u-s-dollar

It's also funny that this article sites the following Bloomberg article. In the 1st sentence of the source, Bloomberg even calls it correctly "Morgan Stanley, one of the few remaining dollar bulls, downgraded its outlook for the US currency citing declining Treasury yields following the Federal Reserve’s dovish pivot."Watcher Guru just had to read the first sentence of the source that they provided to see that this shift is due to declining US yields as a result of the Fed pivoting.

@Bunnyslope I'm long US equities with some extra allocated to small cap stocks and tech stocks. And I have a higher than typical allocation to US Treasuries and corporate bonds (via two ETFs) given how high yields still are in the 5yr+ bond yields.I expect yields to eventually fall (1 - 2 year horizon), and I will shift that extra bond $ allocation back into US equities. All of that to say: the usual investments. I think this BRICS story is bull crap, in terms of its threat to the dollar.

@NBS I still think the FED and the Treasury are on a seesaw with the dollar. rocking the boat back and forth.
