A lot of people know nothing but a mean, aggressive, confrontational internet.They get on in social media like they'd get on in a steel cage match.This is by design. On corporate social media we are actively shown things that will upset us to bait an angry response out of us.It's up to you to create a positive, peaceful social media experience. Think about what your boundaries are, then unapologetically enforce those boundaries.

@samuteki I’ve been thinking a lot about how different the internet was before modern social media. We had genuine communities in the form of individually operated bulletin boards that catered to highly specific interestsThose communities self-governed in beautiful, low-confrontation ways. The difference is palpable

@knbrindle Exactly. When there's a common interest and group consciousness, I think there's no need to seek engagement via trolling. It's easier for people to find a place.
