You'd think that busy professionals have no time for communication, but in my experience is it the other way around: most high performers respond quickly as long as you don't waste their time with stupid questions. It's crazy how better things are when people communicate efficiently.

@galdor How do you classify stupid questions?

@veer66 "Stupid" is a reflect of my frustration when looking at low effort questions (i.e. anything where the author clearly did not do any basic research before asking).

@galdor One of my heroes in Tech is Phil Zimmermann, the creator of PGP. He is one of my heroes because the only time we ever interacted (through email, maybe twenty years ago), I asked him a very stupid question and he answered quickly and kindly.I understand that you’re absolutely right, but there’s also something to be said about being kind to newbies, because they will always ask stupid questions. That’s just how it works. We all have, at some point, asked stupid questions, and the way the other person deals with them makes all the difference.@veer66

@josemanuel @veer66 There is a huge difference between a newbie who makes their research provides context and ask precise questions, and a newbie that just arrives and asks "My code does not work!?". There is nothing wrong with the former. StackOverflow and Reddit are full of the latter.

@galdor If he asks a precise question and provides context, he’s not a newbie. He just asked something stupid to someone else and learnt his lesson then.@veer66
