       Brought something on eBay with PayPal and PayPal used my bank and overdrafted my personal burner account. I got charged a $28 overdraft fee. Thought I was going to have to live with it but called and haggled. They waived the fee. Moral of the story: always haggle over the bucks.

       @IceCubeSoup not unless I remove the bank account from PayPal. The customer service at the bank said this happens frequently. Had the total in my PayPal prior and the took it straight from my bank. Totally ridiculous.

       @tsn_says So is there a safe way to use PayPal anymore?Hook it up to a credit card with a low limit?  Wouldn't they just try the same stunt?

       @IceCubeSoup @tsn_says there’s some dark patterns but you really have to pay attention in the checkout process with paypal these days. There’s expander sections with money sourcing like this problem that are initially hidden away somewhere. And if you set a default sometime and expect it to stay that way, don’t, you have to verify this every time.
