That would explain Tifa bombing in the vidya tournament (us Aerith fans refusing to vote for her), 2B disappointing (A2 fans were loudly against her), and now Megumin bombing (Aqua and Darkness fans both opposing her).The big test for this theory will be Rei and Asuka, if they too flop or underperform, I'll be a lot more sure that I'm right.Keep in mind, FRIENDLY rivalries don't apply here - Pyra has lots of Xenoblade 2 Waifu competition, but most Pyra VS Mythra and Pyra VS Nia debates have come to be defined by mutual respect and appreciation. Several people dropped Holo as their number one or two pick when they finally understood how the nomination process worked very late, which dropped her from being the second highest seeded to third.People had trouble realizing that the nominations was not a matter of listing their personal favorite girls. It was a game were they enough list enough amount girls then the haggle, debate, and scheme to get certain girls into the tournament above.Let's take Darjeeling for example. She's not really tournament material and will get crushed against Tsumugi. She only won a top 16 spot because two of her fans convinced a couple of people who were not normally interested in anime to pick her as their number one pick, giving her six weighted points to her total. Ideally, to accurately rate Fedi's favorite girls from GUP, Yukari would have been in the top 16, and Erika, Darjeeling, and Anchovy would have battled each other in the Royal Rumble. But again, that didn't happen because people were not treating the nominations as a game.
