I have a bunch of those."Angelo of Darkness" - begun in 2005,, technically complete, but the ending is a bit underwhelming after the very interesting everything else. Was trying to expand upon it, to et it into book-shape, but that process kind of petered out more than a year ago.The plot is: a magical Cosa Nostra stereotype is doing stereotypical magical and gangster things."City of Adventure" - some criminals murder a child's parents after mistaking house numbers, and take the kid on a safari through the criminal underworld, chased by some other, even more evil criminals.I thin it was mostly work that interrupted the workflow in this one. Last edit was in 2015.Might pick it up later.

I went to a MeetUp group that wanted to put make a fiction podcast. I wrote a couple of treatments for it. One was for Cordwainer Smith's "Game of Rat and Dragon," and the other an original, "News of the Wood," an audio mockumentary of sasquatches describing their encounters with littlefoot. (The movie "Little Foot," came out a few months later. I don't know how similar it is to my treatment.)The organizer of the group abandoned the project after one meeting, and nobody wanted to take over, so I never wrote the scripts. I don't think my littlefoot treatment would work well as a short story, and "Game of Rat and Dragon" already exists, so I've never done anything with the treatments.https://gutenberg.org/cache/epub/29614/pg29614-images.html

I started a story-within-a-story called "Hides-Behind" about a folkloric monster of the same name. Originally, it was a free-written scrap piece, but then I transcribed it onto my laptop and made changes to set it up as a short horror story.I'd like to continue working on it and to finish it soon, but I can't justify spending the time. I won't be publishing it for a long while, and I have other projects that are already behind their target deadlines.

That would be the final story in my TimeFighters saga. The MC just walks away when asked to help take part in ushering in the dawn of a new Cronus Age. Debating if that is truly were the story should end with nothing resolved.

My main brick is incomplete because I have to research more and see how it comes together

I once had a novella about a soldier who had been genetically engineered to withstand radiation from a nuclear strike. The story took place after the war. Natural humans were succumbing to the radiation from the fallout, but the super soldiers and any of their children were fine. The story was basically the soldier reflecting on the things he'd done in the war as well as discovering a certain "fail-safe" that had been built into the super genes to prevent the super soldiers from turning against their natural human "masters."I got about halfway through before deciding I didn't have enough world building to support the story, but I didn't want to do anything about it at the time. I'd like to rewrite it and actually finish it this time. That will probably be after I finish TKC.

That's the one. I thought it was super interesting, and no one talks about it as far as I've read or heard.
