@grammargirl I feel you. I went through similar issues with my mom and lucked into enough doctors within a hospital network that were vaguely awarw of what the other was doing.The biggest obstacle I see is that everything is fee-for-service. There’s no incentive to know anything outside of the services you, yourself, provide (and thus get reimbursed for).Which is also why there’s no *good* for-profit business model.

@grammargirl 100% agreed!Where I am, there are former healthcare professionals (radiologist, nurse, etc) who turned their careers towards helping patients better understand health situations. They’re called patient navigators, or patient advocates (which the latter can be confronting to doctors). I needed one once and found the experience so helpful.I’m sorry your elderly family member is going through that.
