I recognize that street corner - that is Yonge & Dundas (or Dundas Square) in Toronto. The new woke mayor has decided that the name Dundas is racist and white, so they're going to be renaming it to "Sankofa Square", which is apparantly a name from Ghana, (because why wouldn't you rename stuff in a country founded by Europeans to be African). What is the fine line between humiliation and shame. I may read guilt in their face more then being humiliated. A feeling I'd bet they'd feel in the line as well, just stung out to be longer.However I do agree, the people that brought and dropped more things off should have taken it to a food pantry.I may disagree on the term humiliation.

I still think this is absolutely the wrong take on charity. When it is always hidden, people assume that it is not needed or that someone like "the government" takes care of it- and they don't.The same can be said about rules regarding not discussing pay in non-union shops- there is literally no reason for those to even exist unless someone is getting screwed, they just don't want people comparing notes and unionizing.
