Do you consider those who abstain from voting on a decision they have the right to vote in to be consenting to the decision of the majority of voters?

@levisan no, then again I'm a nonvoter so I'm probably biased, then again on this issue anyone of voting age would probably be biased.

@levisan depends on the reason for not voting. For example, if your choices is between a shit sandwich and shit on a croissant, not choosing is principled. If you don't vote because, "it doesn't matter", you may be right, but if you're wrong, you suck. It's a very strange problem to have since we've heard for so long of the "fight for universal suffrage" and implicit sacrifices. All three choices only advantage the majority if you assume that vote would have been against the majority.

@FullTimeSailor The question came to mind precisely because someone said that I consented to something because I didn't vote

@levisan "I hate everyone and don't want to be responsible for either idiot" was my stance for both Obama elections

@levisan I refuse to take part in a system that gives you the choice between Puppet A and Puppet A. All we get in exchange for our vote is war, lies, inflation and endless consumerism.

@levisan I didn’t vote for years based on this logic:When you vote you are endorsing the system and implicitly pledge to accept the results. The system doesn’t merit endorsement. That said I started again because shit got existential. We know how that went. Now I vote to try to effect local politics where cheating isn’t as easy and the players move up eventually.

@levisan Yes. While pretending to not be partisan. These are among the worst kind.

@Murray_N I like the point that voting endorses the _system_
