Is everything now a lie? Can we trust anything we're told from any source? When was the last time period where we were told, more or less, the objective truth?

@FullTimeSailor If ever. The manipulation of the mass media started at least back in the 1920's.Before that, there was yellow journalism, and newspapers run entirely and openly by obviously biased entities.

@FullTimeSailor "The Front Page" was a play written in 1928 about the media manipulating stories for public opinion.*Evelyn Waugh's "Scoop", from 1938 details the foolishness of the media's fake news.*It was later turned into the excellent 1940 Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell movie "His Gal Friday".

@RichardJohnson That’s great. Did you read the book? Or have substantive disagreement with the NY Times history of misrepresentation?

@WuTangHam I'm not going to read the book. The NY Times history of misrepresentation should be obvious to anyone who can read. But I won't be reading anything from that source.Because he's trusted by the The Daily Beast and Huffington Post.
