A friend grumpily reminded me to be more diligent about CW'ing political posts. My first instinct was to be annoyed, but hey, they're right, and I'll try to remember to be better about that.Let's all be better about that together. To those ends, I’ll also try to remember not to boost un-CW'ed political posts, however awesome and relevant they may be.

@szakib That’s my own inclination. However, I understand the argument that people want to choose where and when to engage with that content.Avoiding politics altogether is a terrible idea. It won’t avoid you. Taking a break isn’t the worst idea.

@tek Forgive my ignorance. What is the reason for a CW on something political? Should this itself have a CW? At first blush this seems unneeded.

@ServerWrestler Some people want a break from politics. Maybe their Mastodon account is where they come to relax after arguing with their relatives about such things. Fine, I'll make it easy for them to filter it out.I'm not sympathetic to people who want to avoid politics altogether. Uh, that's not an option we're granted. But if they want to get away from it for a little while, sure, why not.

@tekI am not perfect about doing content warnings, but I try. Some people produce stuff I mostly agree with, but never a content warning.I try to stay polite but sometimes I will use an old speaking alphabet.William Tare Fox, over.It's as easy as Ack Beer Charlie.

@dpreacher I’ll go along with politics/uspol because it’s stressful to a lot of people. Other people yelled at me to use CWs for tech, cats, and other random stuff. LOL, no. Just unfollow me.
