@NBS 7-9 turned me off of the franchise. I thought 7 had promise, but it devolved quick, and 8 & 9 were horrible.

I don't get why everyone liked 7. I saw it with a friend in Barcelona, and the Spanish subtitles really brought out how incredibly basic and stupid the dialog was.There's still an Empire, and there are still Rebels, even though there's a New Republic? And the New Republic has no navy, no intelligence to see the planet sized laser being built next to them, oh and the Empire somehow has the resources to build it.I depended entirely on nostalgia and had no discernible story.
