@Dan_Ramos Have a coworker with a Hyundai and she had to pay $200+ because her headlamp went out on one side and it was not possible to change the bulb, so she had to buy a whole headlamp assembly. For a headlight going out.

@melodiousowls I find that hard to believe unless it's one of those fancy-shmancy component LED headlamps (ie, uses an LED array instead of a bulb). I expect that from a BMW or an Audi or something ...But a Hyundai?

@Dan_Ramos I was similarly perplexed. Several people that know cars checked it out and I looked at it myself and it seemed like they made it so you couldn't swap bulbs. So you gotta go back to them for the part. Felt like an Apple move.

@melodiousowls rear brake lamp went out on my car (MINI) . I was told I needed to replace the whole assembly ($150) . Found out the reason was because it is a pain in the ass to find the correct bulb. Tracked a bulb down ( $25 😒 wtf) and now I have one as a backup in case other side goes out.

@KillerMule I guess in hindsight I should have just bought the whole unit took out the dud bulb from my car and harvested the good bulb from the unit..then return the unit
