       @Awoo @ceo_of_monoeye_dating Yeah, you are referring to Julian Jaynes' The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, which claims that schizophrenic symptoms were necessary in the materialistic evolution of consciousness and were also the cause of religious thinking among the earliest modern humanoids.It's bunk, and not many natural historians or psychologists affirm, but it's there.

       @ceo_of_monoeye_dating i'm gonna go full schizo about schizophrenia from my personal experience with the occult a lot of schizophrenia cases are the result of someone's forcing themselves to develop second sight/ability to see the unseen world without taking the time to develop themselves enough to handle it. it's like destroying your body by lifting heavier than you can handle. not every person with schizophrenia did this to themselves intentionally and there seem to be entities that feed off/are attracted to people like that/encourage it along the bloodlineto name a specific example, i know a guy who turned into a diagnosed shizo after digging through occult stuff and doing a bunch of hallucinogens. no family history of schizophrenia. a few decades later his estranged son developed schizophrenia WITHOUT doing occult rituals or drugs
