@stux incredible what game engines can do now. I grew up playing castlevania on NES. This looks awesome. My only comment is I like the blood spray when getting damaged, but the environment is so fun it would be nice if the blood faded away after a short time of not taking any further damage so you can see your surroundings better. Great job though!🤘🏼

@Cacotopos Aha! :cat_hug_triangle: Well, the easy way in UE is also nodes with more visual coding unfortIt gets a little more hardcore in C++ though!Another option would be R3F, or React + ThreeJS for building web based gamesall current projects on https://stux.xyz/ are all made in R3F but it's a lot harder to get some basics downUE is just sooo simple these days it only has super many aspects, aside from the game mech there's also the modeling and world building etc

@stux Oh I'm not that worried about the visual programming side, just wanted to push the complexity up a bit. If it's just nodes that he can dive into a little deeper if he needs to that is already going to make his day... I'll see how he reacts haha

@Cacotopos Got it! :cat_hug_triangle: To be honest, i think it's a good way for starters to really understand the logics behind the code before really writing the code itselfSyntax can always be learned super easy but it's the way of thinking of a certain problem that can make or break it ofc :mastogrin: I tried leaving UE but i can't help but returning to it.. it's so much fun and has so many aspects to learn from

@stux Oh I totally agree - he has learned the thinking of programming with Scratch. I guess it's more the limitations of the IDE that I wanted to break him out of. If he doesn't, I might since I've never done any 3D game dev :D

@stux yeah my dad loves technology (he’s a HTSer from Gouda, born in the mid 40’s so all this newfangled stuff without vacuum tubes does frustrate him) but he always thought computer games were a waste of time. 🙄
