       I was just watching a video that seemed pretty good until the speaker asserted out of nowhere that Jesus was a socialist. If he made any political statements, only one got into the Bible: "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's." He said it to avoid getting charged with sedition. People somehow conclude from that one statement, or something, that Jesus advocated a command economy.

       @gmcgath I think I've heard some claim that Acts 2:45 ("And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.") suggests that his early followers, at least, practiced a sort of socialism.Of course, this isn't socialism, even if  it is perhaps representative of the ideals of many socialists.
