2 things . 1. Daughter worked tonight at a restaurant she worked for in HS. So we took baby boyfriend and went there for dinner. When she gets off they are going to a New Years party with her friends. Wife asked him if he's nervous going to a party with strangers. He actually said, No, I've never met anyone that didn't genuinely like me" I can't tell you how hard it was not to set THAT record straight. 1 of 2

2. Most know that our son is autistic and that we spent many years working with him. There was a long period where we were concerned that he wouldn't be able to establish and maintain friendships. He us also going to a New Years party with his friends. This is a huge blessing and does my heart good.

@Phil Autistic people notice the wrong doings of the Public School system more frequently?Public School officials want to make people believe the brainwashing center they run benefits societySo then they say Autistic people will not be able to make friends without the special help of public school and that public school is actually good for themIf you are not going to brainwash people then the only way to make friends is to not be a jerkAutistic people can choose not to be jerks

@Phil Because high functioning Autistic people can choose not to be jerks they can make friendsI am not sure if low functioing autustic people who can not communicate can make friends or how you would know if they can. Supposedly some low functioing autistic people can not speak sentences and I presume can not read and write but for whatever reason are called autistic instead of retardedcontinuation of previous comment

@shortstories well its a bit more than not being a jerk. They struggle with social queues and by misreading them can seem like a jerk unintentionally. So it takes a lot of coaching for a high functioning autistic person.

@shortstories Did you really say you're not sure why low functioning autists are not called retarded? 🤔 You have no idea what they're thinking. Just because they don't speak, doesn't mean they aren't intelligent. Autism is complex and there is a huge spectrum. One of my sons, me, and 2 grandsons are autistic. I've also worked as a clinician with autistic children. Your comment is ignorant and rude. @Phil
