@stux I like the ones with pretty pictures, but the ones that just go "wheee-bang" with no visuals are entirely pointless and annoying.

@stux After 30 minutes, some wild fireworks are still set off.I am lucky my four-legged son is not afraid of the fireworks as long as someone is close to him and cuddling with him.

@stux Ach, wat naar. Kon je het ze maar uitleggen, hè? En het is hier al sinds donderdag aan de gang. Maar nu op z’n ergst. Nog even doorbijten maar. Helaas zal met de PVV zetelwinst een verbod op vuurwerk nog verder weg zijn dan ooit. 😢

@stux As a Californian I'm just happy that *this* time of the year the fireworks are during the rainy season instead of the wildfire season. (Unlike the 4th of July, the other holiday people celebrate here with illegal fireworks.)

@darkling @stux I once had a contractor visit the house who had been in Iraq. She *really* did not like fireworks. I can only imagine the kinds of memories it brought back.
