       So question for folks who run #fedi instances. Is there any reason to keep the char count for post, name, profiles and alt text stuff lower? Like does it take more space if its higher? Is it just hard to change in some cases? When I was looking around more for instances and so on I did notice alot of them just had default values, is there any reason to?I find it was very limited only having 500 for everything more or less#fediverse

       @FluxWyvern@transfem.social Imagine this.You remove the limit and suddenly you have assholes copypasting the whole bible, the lord of the ring or whatever other lengthy book. Several times.Something that long is probably more words that I would post in a long time, and they can post it several times. Your instance is gonna turn into a clogged toilet before you know it.That's just one of the reasons.That said on our instance we have a very generous limit, I personally never hit the cap.
