       Perhaps the answer to the 'online safety act' is for you to have some proof you've bought something that would already have required over 18 verification already'; so a website would have you prove that you had bought {alcohol, knife, fireworks, brick cleaner}.  It could create an entire market for alcohol minatures, tiny bottles of brick cleaner and single bangers.

       @penguin42  online vape juice suppliers already have some way of proving you are >18 without having to scan your driving licence or other age ID.The dilemma in the cases is you have to divulge your home address to the business running the website (or else your vape juice/booze/knife couldn't be delivered anyway), which many people wouldn't want to do for an "adult" website for understandable reasons..

       @vfrmedia I was just thinking of the bizarre ways it could be done, like a website asking you to go and buy a .... <random age consented item> 'bottle of brick cleaner' and prove it.

       @neil @vfrmedia Indeed, but generating an unintended increase in the number of fireworks/bottles of vodka/brick cleaner  to get access to web sites would be wonderfully perverse.  I was aiming for perverse rather than practical.
