I know this is a hot take but I'm gonna say it anywaysAmerican dates (MM-DD-YY) are bad,but Internation dates (DD-MM-YY)people may argue that it's more consistent, but it's only more consistent at being inconsistentif u rank the digits from least significant to most significant you get this for American43-21-65for International21-43-65And that's why the superior format is YY-MM-DDits perfectly organized from most significant to least significant, like every other number we use day to day

@moshibar@ambrosia.moe Disagree. When you take a doctor appointment how likely is it that it's gonna be the next year? Year is the least useful part.No matter how fleeting, how little a day lasts compared to a year. It's usually the most important part of the date.Who the hoot says "I'll host a party on year/month/day"?Usually they'll say only the day, sometimes the month if it's not the current one. But the year? If I need to tell you the year too it's because the thing is gonna happen OVER a year from now. If I tell you "We will do X on December 22" you're gonna assume it's of the next year, no need to even specify that.

@raccoon@den.raccoon.quest there's nothing saying u can't omit the year/month depending on context, I'm just talking about dates that have all three

@moshibar@ambrosia.moe Yeah and I'm saying, the year isn't more important than the day
