What is the new thing for #piracy? After torrent, a lot of traffic moved to “peer-to-email”. I guess there is something-simething-tor but all I know about for is how it works on a high level.

@mms you’re of course absolutely right, but the automations you can use around the protocol have grown up a lot over the last five years! Since we’re both emacs people I’m tempted to reply with hyperdrive.el and its associated hypercore network. I do plan on experimenting further with it in 2024 :)

@johnhamelink this looks like ftp with extra steps?:-)I may have missed it but it doesn’t replicate the files across the network?

@mms unsure, I only tried it out once after a cursive read through. It’s p2p but that doesn’t mean it’s replicating as you say

@johnhamelink you can volunteer to mirror (/co-host/) a drive. Which is nice. It still, I fail to see a huge difference compared to ftp or even a http server with file listing :-)
