@FortyTwo30 year musician here. I always tell anyone who's picking it up to start out with AC/DC songs.The 5 basic shapes plus power chords.It's shocking how much is basically just that.Have fun.

@AnthemAK @FortyTwo Is it possible to abuse guitar pedals to make funky noises, other that an actual guitar? Some people say that software distortion plugins are all you need but I always kind of thought some guitar tech to do cool shit with things other that guitars. ( i.e. EDM basslines).

@FortyTwo @AnthemAK Yeah, I've been researching this subject because I wanted to got the Charlie Puth route of edm, just using metal sheets, pipes, aluminium and PVC to create basslines, then I could run the sounds through guitar petals and make them wild sounding.Totally a weird shower thought of mine, I think it has potential with the right mind behind it, and it sounds cooler than just the regular slog through using a DAW + Vital or Serum for your basslines (yaaawwnnnnn).

@charlie_root @FortyTwoReally anything is possible given time and.... Inspiration lol.I'm a bassist that got into Geddy so hard as a teen that I have to have some degree of overdrive in my tone or it doesn't sound right.

@charlie_root @FortyTwoAny bass guitar, a Boss OC-2 or 5, and a synth pedal of any type will get you there.I also like a delay to add some cool bounce. Waters was a pretty heavy user of this trick.
