       In economics, the model where there's a tradeoff between civilian spending and military spending is called the guns vs butter model. Why did they call it that and not grain silos vs missile silos.

       @jmopp It was coined during the Vietnam War when, hopefully, ICBM missile silos weren't going to play any part, but M-16s were.
