@riserise not only that, but you're using a tiling WM.It's over, you've gone too far

@waifu arch but it's super quick to install and comes pre-riced to some degree

@riserise I know. I've been testing Hyprland the last couple weeks, and it's pretty neat. I'm still messing with my config files, tho. What are you using right now?

@riserise yeah, Hyprland s awesome. It runs over Wayland, though, so if you prefer x.org or you have compatibility problems, you may have probilems runnng it. With xWayland I had no problems so far, though

@Suzu it was a bit of a hassle but I got it running now. Definitely feels better with the mouse controls. I like the animations too.

@riserise i know, right? Finally a tiling wm that lets me seamlessly control things with the mouse in a way that fits my workflow. You must have noticed you'll need to install a bar and a launcher. I recommend waybar for the bar, as it's highly customizable and can be made very pretty, and rofi for the launcher. There is a patch for rofi that makes it work fine in Wayland. Guides I saw recommended wofi, which is a launcher based on rofi but developed to run on Wayland from the start, but I found out wofi has not as many options as rofi and you can't do as much cool shit in it.

@Suzu thanks I'll take a look at rofi. I'd like a little power menu at least.

@Suzu managed to copy over some of the scripts and styles from i3 for working menus and launchers. Need to make the bar look nicer though.

@riserise waybar can be styled with CSS. Check out this guy, he has a github with a script for installing all his dotfiles and shit, but you can just wade into his files to check for ideas on out how to do stuff instead of just running his script. He has a few variations of waybar stylings, and even uses pywal to find the wallpaper colors and use it for the bar, so the bar always matches your wallpaper.I'm using his dotfiles as inspiration for my own setup (not everything, but I think that's a good base).https://youtu.be/e9ro_P9rbFk

@Suzu yep it's really nice, perfect for experimenting.I didn't know of pywal before. It breaks in some special cases but it does look sick, especially with the changing wallpapers.

@riserise @Suzu Try pywal16, if it breaks file an issue, it will be eventually fixed, or send some bucks to the fag that maintains pywal16 asking him to fix the issue, something like 5 bucks with the message "fat bastard, stop eating beans off the pot and fix my issue, here be 5 bucks"
