       In CLASS WAR BABY! — my novel about three beautiful rightwing terrorist strippers who go on a murder spree against leftwing journalists — I used Jack Kerouac’s ON THE ROAD and Bret Easton Ellis’ AMERICAN PSYCHO as inspirational models, though I find the prose style in both to be execrable (it’s a wonder they got a half-way decent film out of AMERICAN PSYCHO). In their leftist, socially transgressive zeal those authors tried to disturb readers from their comfort zones by writing bad prose, something that I found to be totally ineffective. My intent in CLASS WAR BABY! is not to use such flimsy trickery, but solely to rely on the disconnect derived by having the protagonist sex workers be decidedly rightwing, which they rarely are.And why not? It’s high time the rightwing claims its place in cultural production by producing art which comes wholly from a rightwing perspective.
