@CSB Is that why Brits add Rs into words where there are none?

@CSB They also have a tendency to drop Rs from words so perhaps that's what it means - pronounce the Rs instead of dropping them. You hear the same pronunciations from some New Englanders in the US. Like pronouncing drawer as draw, or idea as idear. Makes them sound silly to the rest of us. My co-workers and I would always tease one of the ladies we worked with who was from Maine because of the way she talked.

@CSB @LacyB By removing the R's from where they are supposed to be they show up unintentionally in places they shouldn't.

@CSB @LacyB I have heard that the Irish have a more traditional English accent than the English have today. I like the rhotic accents best. I like the accent that Louisa has on Doc Martin, not sure where she is from.

@Invictus @CSB @LacyB Ages ago I worked in the computer department of a huge office building. Our manager was Scottish. We had a weekly meeting where she would tell us what the priorities of the weeks work were, and hand out work. No one could understand her. After the meeting, we would go back to our work area, and we would all compare notes, and tell each other what we understood. We could only do about 70% of jobs, the other 30% of stuff, we had no idea what she wanted.
