       Local kookaburra pair have been diligently digging a hole in a termite colony for a while. I saw something fluffy inside, and got quite excited; have they lined a nest?! Are we gonna get bebe kookas!? My partner zoomed in with the camera and discovered the "nesting material" had a face!#WildOz #possums #kookaburras

       I believe this is the kooka pair in question. The photo is from some time ago, but in the same spot. They hang out there a lot. We were never sure if this was an adult and a near-adult kid, or gifting behaviour between a breeding pair. But given they've been hanging out together for a year and dig holes in termite nests together, we're leaning towards the latter. This is one of my favourites of my partner's photos.#WildOz #Kookaburras
