I call bs on this. If this happened in Georgia, these would be happening all hotter states than Georgia like AZ, Texas & the like. This screams someone had a Dewalt or similar battery heat gun plumbers and electricians use and they aimed it at the mirror. Maybe a prank or the daughters ex or who ever.https://jalopnik.com/atlanta-area-family-finds-out-the-hard-way-that-new-car-1851129199

@ReadyKilowatt lol, not the same but good try. That's from a building in the summer of 2013, not a car bouncing the reflection off something else to melt the opposite side of the mirror in December 23 in a mild climate state.I worked in a auto plant for 12 years. All cars sold in North America go through hot & cold weather testing. Mexican built cars may do their own hot tests there but for US it's usually Arizona, New Mexico, or South Cali for hot & Michigan or Canada for cold.

@RexRedbone @cjntenn Animals have eaten the wiring harnesses for years. About 10 years ago I was at a restaurant in Winter Park CO - a friend's SUV could start but not move.Figured out it was wiring damage - got the vehicle in gear using the bypass & was able to drive home. The repair was $2K or so IIRC.
