Today, I'll be conducting more experiments with snac2. Until yesterday, I had been running it with 16 threads.Today, I'll try with 32 to observe the load and how it responds when posting while simultaneously using the web interface. With 16 threads, there was a (slight) slowdown during queue processing; let's see if things change with 32.I'll also delve into some more niche aspects - I've noticed a couple of details regarding boosts that don't always seem to be displayed by Mastodon (a behavior I've also encountered on Pixelfed).I'll investigate.Stay tuned!#Snac2 #Experiment #Performance #WebInterface #Boosts #Fediverse #Mastodon

Yes, it seems to be better with 32.

@stesnac Exciting! What would your shared uber-ride pitch be to a friend about #snac & #bsdcafe #openbsd?

@SrRochardBunson@universeodon.com I have temporarily abandoned OpenBSD because the I/O performance was slow on the VM I was using, so it's now running on a FreeBSD jail on ZFS. I don't rule out moving it back to OpenBSD, but on a more powerful VPS. Migrating is just a matter of doing an rsync 🙂. At the moment, it works well, but I struggle to find a web interface that completely convinces me (the ideal would be a mix between its integrated one, enafore, phanpy, and elk... impossible 🙂 ), but this is related to my preferences. I will continue with the experiments before making further judgments, but I believe it will result in a blog article.
