I believe in building a broad, inclusive Anarchist movement, and that requires Anarchist to have a positive public image. Anarchist presenting themselves positively to people can help dispel misconceptions about Anarchism, making it more appealing to a wider audience. By avoiding negativity, Anarchist would aim to attract potential allies who may share common goals despite ideological differences, fostering a more unified and effective movement for social change. #anarchism #inclusive #positive

@Radical_EgoCom In the 70s we built a large (for around here) anarcho-syndicalist labor cooperative, which lasted a little over a decade, affected local politics and economy, and is still fondly remembered locally. The uni even collected its papers. So I take this as proof that a positive outcome is possible. http://www.hoedadsonline.com/

@ch0ccyra1n Perpetuating the narrative that anarchy is chaos does damage to the anarchist movement. Anarchy isn't chaos. At most, it's the complete destruction of the modern capitalist/statist system in favor of a more voluntary social/economic system. Anarchy is very ordered, but the order is non-hierarchal and non-coercive, and people who aren't Anarchist misinterpret that as being chaotic due to having been taught that anything outside state control is chaos.

@Radical_EgoCom I think staying polite is not nearly enough, given that society's most influential groups actively badmouth it.In that aspect, Anarchism is basically secular satanism

@punissuer Being polite to the people we want to eventually become Anarchist is necessary. Generally people don't join political movements if it's full of people who act unruly and rude. And I don't know what you mean by "secular satanism". You used the word "satanism" as if it were a bad thing.

@Radical_EgoCom yes, being polite is a good thing and a necessity. It's just an uphill battle as the predatory class actively portraits it as evil. Which is about the same situation Satanism faces regarding most Christians

@punissuer Well, there seems to be only two options: either continue to present ourselves as politely as reasonably possible to people and have the capitalist-ran media constantly portray us as villains, or not care at all about our public image and have the capitalist media do the same thing. The former option holds more possibility for success than the latter.

@Radical_EgoCom I'd have to respectfully disagree. Y'know how oftentimes liberals say that "democracy is messy"? I would argue this actually holds true moreso for anarchy than liberal democracy, whatever form it takes, because there's no hierarchy telling people what to do. The chaotic nature of anarchy is more of a consequence of how free it is, and it's not really a bad thing per se. Having been in a few anarchist collectives myself, I've seen first-hand how chaotic it can be and I appreciate it because it's in my view, an indicator that it's a space that respects the autonomy of those within it.

@ch0ccyra1n While individual autonomy is important, a lack of structure in an Anarchist organization, especially one that is seeking to challenge the state, can lead to inefficiency and hinder their collective goals. There is a need for organized cooperation within Anarchist frameworks to ensure a more effective pursuit of common objectives, of course without sacrificing individual freedom.

@Radical_EgoCom I would prefer a more decentralized network of cells with only ideals holding them together. It's really just different approaches to anarchist strategy and at best I think we could agree to disagree. I personally don't think I would just go along with a highly structured and formalized anarchist organization as from what I've observed happening in practice, these orgs are primarily concerned with self-preservation and bureaucracy. By eschewing that and instead going for a network of cells, there's significantly more autonomy for individual affinity groups and no motivation to self-preserve a cell beyond after it becomes unnecessary for the particular task. It's more ephemeral and I like it. I think this is the solution to a lot of issues I've experienced in these formalized organizations.

@ch0ccyra1n Decentralized cells may offer group autonomy, but a structured organization is vital for achieving broader collective goals and societal issues. Organization enables effective coordination, resource distribution, and goal pursuit. Concerns about bureaucracy can be addressed through transparent, democratic decision-making, maintaining a balance between autonomy and organization for lasting societal change, rather than abandoning a structured approach altogether.

@Radical_EgoCom also I doubt that organizations really can bring effective resource distribution, let alone better than autonomous cells can. I've yet to see any anarchist organization (or really, any organization) handle resource distribution well.

@ch0ccyra1n Your skepticism towards organizational effectiveness overlooks the potential for decentralized decision-making and direct democratic processes within anarchist organizations. A well-structured Anarcho-Communist system, grounded in principles of cooperation and equality, could address bureaucratic issues and ensure more equitable resource distribution through horizontal decision-making and participatory methods. Don't dismiss Anarchist organization based on past perceived failures.

@magitweeter Because you, like they, want to ignore Fed. & State laws to lead their own fiefdom. You said you would infiltrate another collective to lead them onto your path. So your ideas must outweigh the decisions of the peers you wish to change. You feel the need to lead, and anarchy rejects that.

@magitweeter Perhaps it would be useful if you listed the rules of your supposed community, and how they would interface with those within the next 50-100 miles. Those Proud Boys have much the same philosophy as yours, but with cult leadership and strict military hierarchies involved. They might not approve of your lack thereof.

@magitweeter Of course the Proud Boys are right wing anarchists. They want to end the Federal government completely. Statists are a type of anarchists, they are just bigger.See Constitutional Sheriffs again. Total local control of a county without state or federal influence. Seems like a possible anarchic county with an elected enforcer of the rules.
