       I have a mild suspicion that I'm incapable of perceiving the sweet taste the same way as other people do, and that instead I associate the concept of sweetness with something else. Because, going from what I interpret as "sweet", Nutella is sweeter than pure sugar, and apples aren't sweet at all.

       @paper_crook it's varying degrees of bitter, and when it's only very mildly bitter, it's basically like water with flavor.

       @comrade_lecter Nutella beeing sweeter then pure sugar is normal they make it be sweeter artificially.As for apples not being sweet: depends entirely on the kind of apple and how ripe they are. Boskop Apples for example are sour even if full red.

       @comrade_lecter interesting. While sugar is definitely 'supposed' to be sweet, so is nutella. Regarding the apples, apples of different types actually tastes really different. There are definitely watery apples and sour apples and even bitter apples. Perhaps that you have only had those apples. I have to admit that I don't think I've ever had a truly 'sweet' apple either, and I find it confusing why people associate apples with sweetness honestly. Maybe only very mild sweetness I can perceive but apples are mostly either watery or sour or bitter for me as well.
