The adoration of mechanical keyboards completely bewilders me. I was forced to learn to type in high school (woodwork was for boys only, you see), and loathed using a mechanical typewriter, and then an electric typewriter.I fell in love with the first keyboards I didn't have to push keys down hard on, and have never wanted to go back. Also I can't stand the noise of clacking keyboards. Am I just weird, or am I missing something? Typing is a chore, not for playing around.

@anathema_device I see where you're coming from, but I also see the whole mech keyboard thing. Just because something is a chore, doesn't mean you can't get customised/specialty tools which help to inject a bit of joy/excitement into the task

@fcktheworld587 no, not at all. It's just the mechanical keyboards do the opposite of injecting joy into the task for me. I'm puzzled by them doing that for anyone. Are they for people who really like pounding them or something?

@anathema_device ahhhh, I misinterpreted. My apologies, I'm very tired and d/t a med error, not at the top of my cognitive game - which is not great, even when I am at the top of it
