       Apparently this is not a new feature, but I just found out about it because I got curious about the search tonight. Tell you what though, if combating misinfo is the goal, there are plenty of search strings available that should fit that bill that aren't blocked.

       Per @taylorlorenz on Threads, @mosseri  claimed this was meant as a temporary measure that would only last  "a matter of days/weeks." This was months ago.This again leaves us with two possibilities: - The misinformation problem regarding COVID is so bad on Threads that they don't feel comfortable allowing search because moderation is impossible,  OR- The moderation problem is so low a priority, and preventing people from seeking real information is acceptable enough, that months have gone by without addressing it.Either way, the result is the same: 100M+ people are incapable of using the platform to seek up-to-date information about the virus during a spike in infections.That is material harm.
