       Don't be fooled by these headlines.  Reported crime in Seattle is "down" because they literally have half asany cops as they are supposed to have.  Should have 1,200 cops but only have 600 because they can't recruit new cops.        @Peaceandprosperity Auto thefts need to be reported for insurance purposes - auto break-ins do not.I've experienced car break-ins twice, and did not report either one. What was the use?(The first time it happened was super annoying - they took my home-baked cookies, but rejected most of my music.  I was flattered, insulted, and inconvenienced all at once.)

       @halleberry one of my best friends is a captain in our Sheriff's department.  He does a lot of hiring and they should have 720, but only have 600.  He is the one the first clued me in on the crime statistics BS.  And it's not like the politicians know any real cops anymore so they are all completely clueless.I live in a small town, so we don't have much crime, but that might be because we all have shotguns!

       @Peaceandprosperity yeah i'm in a town right out of seattle. we have the lowest police per capita in the county. our politicians don't care either. they don't get it. if we call its an hour response, so we don't. the prosecutor for the county also won't do anything so the workers and cops know there is no point.
