@Tutanota I don't really get the whole "IP leak" fear.This is how Internet is made, when sending some data it has an IP address of the sender and receiver in the header.It's a matter of do we want a sender written on the packet or do we prefer having a middleman between the conversation.We have VPN, Tor, I2P and proxy that do essentially the same what preventing "IP leak" do, but with the ability to choose the middleman.

@Tutanota Signal and Threema suck for the casual user who power users want to chat with. Neither of them pass the "spouse" test, unless your spouse is also an ultra nerd.

Why would you ever recommend WhatsApp, it sucks out your social graph, has backdoors and is made by the company that illegally created shadow profiles. Why not stick with Signal and something like Session or Simplex?

@austincnunn Got it. Been there. We (ex and I) still go round and round on why I won't send stuff namely attachments through her gmail address. What is so hard about secure links?? My siblings on the other hand have learned well. My 2 sisters (younger by a couple of years) run Manjaro on ThinkPad X1 Carbons and share files with me using wormhole. And one of them is running GrapheneOS on her pixel 6
