@PNS It only causes inflation if the government increases the money supply. Debt ceilings solve that if taken seriously. COVID studies showed that the overwhelming majority settled debt and paid rent with their allowances. Historically, injecting cash to the poor creates more economic activity than giving it to the rich or corporates, because the wealthy spend less as a percentage of income.The weakness is stopping government from printing money.

The rest is a standard labour market with some optional job reservation to avoid the worst social ills when citizens are forcefully idle or feel worthless.Some citizens won't work. They never were going to. Some will use the minimum standard of living to pursue passions like podcasting or making art. That is a non-material value.
