       Found this adapter sitting around and can't remember when or where I bought it.It probably belongs in the "USB abominations" drawer given that I can't imagine it's USB spec compliant.Any idea what it might be used for?

       @azonenberg The only use I can think of, is powering a passive-USB-A device (e.g. a fan or light) from a battery pack/adapter with a USB-micro-b intended for a phone charger.

       @penguin42 Yeah that's kinda what I'm thinking. Using a micro-B wallwart to power something intended to be powered by an A.
