Question for Linux users... normally with Windows, I would ignore and disable updates. They never really did any good, sometimes made things worse, and often update CRAP that I don't use. For Linux users... do you automatically accept Linux updates to your system?

@jessecoynelson No, I check which packages need to be updated, on my own schedule, and only do those. But I am a geek who knows Linux quite well.

@jessecoynelson I don't have them install automatically, but it notifies me when they're available. Unless they're kernel or firmware updates, they don't require a restart. I usually install them when I'm not doing other things. For my servers, I try to check at least once a week; your question reminds me that I'm overdue on that!

@jessecoynelson Automatic - no.Once a week or so - yes. On my schedule.I only go "seeking" if I see some serious security issue & do that fix right away (and none of the others).
