If you a) believe bitcoin is going to the moon and b) want to use fee adjustments to keep your lightning channels balanced so you never need to close them, then why would you need to fund your channels with millions of sats each?If "it's going up forever", shouldn't the amount of sats required for the average transaction sent across your node also trend downward? 🤔

While a veteran of "tech", I'm only acquainted with "bitcoin basics"... @PaulECarefully ... it makes no sense to me.I know SATS are small slices of bitcoin and LIGHTNING is a protocol for exchanging them. What is the point of many channels and why would you need to balance them?

@GluedToTheScreen multiple channels helps ensure payments go through in the event someone's node goes offline. If you have an outbound channel to someone else and all of the sats in the channel are on their side, you can no longer use that channel to send to or through their node. Someone else can probably explain it better than I can.
