       OK so this is the first MNT Reform Next prototype/functional mockup. The goal is to get a feeling for the new form factor and potential performance and to make progress on the iterative design process. The bottom half is 3D-printed (multi jet fusion) while the top half didn't work out in print, so it's actually MNT Reforms top half! The keyboard, trackpad, display and hinges are real, but they connect to wires that go out of the back to a RK3588 development system.

       we will bring this proto to #37c3 tomorrow so you can check it out. here's a video of minetest running on the proto. this is using bbrezillon's midstream kernel and panthor open source mesa driver.

       @mntmn @khm I guess for ones that would still prefer a trackball it could be a standalone device like how some people carry a mouse with their laptop?Which reminds me that I haven't found a portable non-thumb trackball yet, plus most trackballs are using mouse-switches instead of choc-switches which I'd guess would be more comfortable to hold clicks.
