game design concept: you have the craziest weapons at your disposal but using them will almost never solve your problems. like what if animal crossing had guns or smth. you'd never have a reason to shoot at anything ever.

im going through this idea likewhat if i turn this dream i had last night into a game and it's like "what if i had a gun"and the answer is nothing would have changed. because nothing would have made sense to shoot at, or opening fire would have just been a generally awful idea.

@wizard Elite Odyssey can be like this. Thousands of light years out in the black... you can still pull out your FPS guns and shoot some boulders or whatever. (It doesn't do anything, of course.)

@frost maybe what i'm thinking about is a bit more specific, where it'd be tempting to just start shooting to solve problems but that'd always create bigger issues for you

@wizard Elite ALSO has that! Legal missions to ground settlements are a bit rare but they do exist.And then there's the illegal missions, where you CAN go in shooting, but... yeah Bigger Issues That Way. It's much easier to stealth your way through everything.
