I've said it before and I'll say it again until it damn well sinks in: Every single streaming service with the rights to long-running episodic TV series needs to engineer a per-series shuffle function.Sometimes I want to watch, e.g., Futurama, or want a futurama-esque vibe for background noise, but the act of selecting a particular episode I'm in the mood for? Kills that vibe.Or sometimes I'm like, "Gimme every episode of I Love Lucy or Mama's Family, but in no particular order, like I'm home sick from elementary school."So: Shuffle.

HBO Max had a few, for a little while, but only on the stoner comedy shows (aquateens, rick and morty, southpark, etc). And then shortly after Zaslav came in, they even tanked THOSE.

@Wolven I actually emailed this as a suggestion to Netflix about 8yrs ago. They appreciated it so much they gave me a month free, but I never saw anything done with it š

@Wolven Netflix was testing a shuffle feature, but they only enabled it for people viewing in-browser or on select devices so I was never able to actually use it. Itās been a few years since they did anything with it, Iām guessing they gave up.

@RangerRick Yeah, I have plex, but I'm also currently without the mental and temporal energy to buy dedicated storage, set up a server, obtain all the things I might want to watch, etc, etc

@Wolven the things we could do if we had RSS feeds of shows from each streamer and we could just get mp4 files from them. Sometimes the restrictions and the sheer amount of waste of time, money, and effort to make plentiful things scarce just frustrates me so much

Most studios & production companies don't care about their viewers, they care about making the line that charts their feelings & imaginary stock valuations go up as often as possible, and if they can do that more easily via chaos that worsens your experience than via making shows you like, they will
