Used my home grown yarrow and juniper berries that my sister foraged for me. I don't recall anyone else posting home brews, still figured I'd share.

Sounds wonderful. I tried Mead for the first time last year at Superstition Meadery in Prescott, AZ. It was AMAZING... so much flavor and sweetness. https://superstitionmeadery.com/locations/

I love the time process, similar to crockpot slow cooking but even more so.

Have you ever tried anything with crab apples? There is a tree near a spot where I launch my rowing shell in the Summer time that has nice large crab apples (well, large for crab apples anyway). These are also not as tart as they usually are. I used to quarter and Sun dry them. Then I would chop some up to add to my oatmeal. Recently I found out the seeds are supposedly toxic, so I quit doing this. I have experimented with "coring" the fruit with a small tube, which worked okay I guess.

@kestrel_black That is awesome that you were just recently looking into crab apple trees. I do have one growing in my yard that was spindly and struggling when I moved here four years ago. I didn't know what type of tree it was, but after some TLC it produced a couple of little crab apples. Still nursing it, but it seems like it is in recovery mode.
