@BlubberSockets This is a barion cut trillion. It utilized a step cut crown and a brilliant cut pavilion. Often used to blend color evenly though the stone.Material may be hesionite garnet or topaz.

@BlubberSockets Blue spinel, so I'm assuming August since it's the only month with spinel.Tough to find very blue ones. Most of them are more of a gray to steel blue. The crystal structure also tends to have better yield with rounds, so you won't find a lot of trillions out there since no one wants to burn that much.Can keep an eye out, but it's been a long time since I saw that natural material changing hands.Synthetic spinel is any color.

@BlubberSockets They work fine, but triangles can make accent stones look off. Usually would require something like a halo of diamonds. Two rounds may also work.

@BlubberSockets September is sapphire.They were cheap fuckers. Everyone cuts blue lab spinel instead of blue sapphire because it isn't as hard on the machine.

@BlubberSockets Block of lab sapphire vs block of lab spinel.Also natural sapphire (may be heated) vs natural blue spinel.Don’t know what your budget is or if you are looking at big boy stones. But a natural star sapphire in cabochon surrounded by diamonds would be a pretty baller ring.

They are price according to color, sharpness of the star, and volume.This range is around $1200, $2000, and $4000.Look is very different from the fake Linde stars most people know. It’s much more subtle. Star is caused by lattice of rutile crystal needle occurring within the corundum crystal.

@istvan I like big boy stones but my fiance likes smaller, and she would like if our rings matched in style. I will ask her. Idk how expensive those are, I'm guessing a thousand dollars? I am just learning this stuff now

@BlubberSockets My advice: budget around $1000-$1500 for a nice stone, put $1000 into the metal and get the band to match her engagement ring now, buy yours closer to the wedding and don’t spend more than $800 on it.Unless you already own a home, that’s a much better place for your money as a young couple. You are going to f to have a lifetime to buy her other stuff when you are hopefully more financially secure.Nothing is harder on a new marriage than debt.

@BlubberSockets My wife designs settings. We cast outside: don’t have the volume to make it worth adding kiln and vacuum casting in-house. In house we only do metal fabrication and sand casting. We set the in shop when the casting is done.Not comfortable posting designs on the public TL. There are crazy people on the Internet.
