       There were movies which I watched during the holidays as a child, however, I can't remember what they were now (much of my childhood memory is extremely blurry and fuzzy).As an adult, I broke away from my family, and in being alone, I had no reason to establish or continue any such traditions.Now, I've made it a point to write a story for the holidays. This year I am running behind due to circumstances around moving, but I hope to start a new tradition in which I can share new stories &/or poetry with my family during the holidays.

       Hubby and I participate in the Christmas Journey play. We're both shepherds. He's in costume in the scenes and I'm doing ninja stuff behind the scenes, making sure the (live) animals are taken care of.Otherwise, no, not really. If Charlie Brown is on, we might watch that.

       Past few years in my house it's been tradition to watch the Christmas episodes of Mrs. Brown's Boys on Xmas Eve, and to listen to the Christmas tunes of Gene Autrey. On my own time I usually listen to a bit of select Christmas music, including Sabaton's "Christmas Truce", Blind Guardian's cover of "Merry Xmas Everybody" by Slade, and some of Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas songs.

       I've spent years gathering Christmas music from Gregorian hymns to Hawaiian to synth-pop. I slowed down when I found my Holy Grail of Christmas music, a theremin Christmas album, (Peter Pringle's "A Theremin Christmas Pudding") as a free download. My favorites: "3 Ships," John Anderson; "A Different Kind of Christmas," 90s alt-rock, various artists; "The Phil Spector Christmas Album," various artists; and "Nomad Christmas: a World Music Celebration."One that I can't bring myself to take off the list is Gary Glitter's Christmas album. It's a great pop Christmas album, but it makes me think of Gary Glitter.

       Yes. That would be Ron Howard as Sherlock Holmes. There’s something about this series that goes good with a winter day/night, along with some fine sliced aged cheese, saltine crackers and a good bottle by your side.
